Which diet is the best?
Low-fat and low-carb diets have been in the news a lot lately. The most successful approach is a balanced nutrition, comprising carbohydrate, protein, and fat in the appropriate ratio. Once you learn how to choose the right foods, how much to eat, when to eat, and some pertinent recommendations regarding exercise, you'll be well on the way. The American Medical Association recently advised physicians to teach their patients about appropriate nutrition in weekly sessions. Unfortunately, most doctors' offices are not set up to do this.

- blood sugar - with special emphasis on diabetes if indicated
- blood pressure - with special emphasis on controlling blood pressure if necessary
- Cardiovision heart disease risk assessment
- bone density - for osteoporosis
- body composition - it's not just about losing pounds - improving body composition is just as important
- basal metabolic rate - slow metabolism leads to weight gain; we'll teach you how to increase metabolism safely
By screening for the above before we begin, we can customize the program specifically to your needs. We are not a "one-size-fits all" society. Each person's situation is different, requiring an individual approach.
